About June

During a visit to the Tokyo National Museum 10 years ago, I encountered a pattern known as "scrolls" or "karakusa" in Japan, an ancient design originating from Egypt and Europe. This pattern traveled along the Silk Road, making its way through Central Asia to China, where it was widely adopted in porcelain works. By the 7th and 8th centuries, it reached Japan with Buddhism and other cultural elements, becoming a significant feature in traditional Japanese handicrafts. This experience sparked my passion for the pattern.

I identify myself as a crafter, believing in the power of crafts to transcend time and culture, to migrate from one technique to another, and to be passed from one person to another, just as the "scrolls" pattern found its way back to Europe from Asia. I cherish the art of crafting, the peace, and joy it brings me, and my dream is to extend this peace and joy to more people.

About J

fun and useful ways to make the world a more interesting place. I also want to give people happiness in crafts and enjoyment in arts and hard work.
